The Artists
Cecilia Frittelli and Richard Lockwood have been textile designers for 25 years, married since 1984 and full-time business partners since 1990. They started their business during the 80s in New York City as "Manhattan Handweavers" and expanded their wholesale business as "frittelli & LOCKWOOD" during the 90s in the Adirondack Mountain region. Frittelli and Lockwood moved to Saratoga Springs in 2000 and set up a studio in an old mill building in nearby Glens Falls called the Shirt Factory. Involved with the Saratoga Arts District for many years, they searched for local studio space and in 2008 started major renovation work on an 1850 building at the north end of the Arts District. In July of 2009 they opened their gallery, "Textile Studio", displaying their handwoven clothing and accessories alongside their looms and yarn collections.EDUCATION Cecilia: BS in Theatre Design and Textile Arts, Skidmore CollegeWeaving workshop with Michael Schier at Syracuse Univ.
